Photo of Tawny Owl seen 10th May 2026 at Boldrewood
We visit local venues such as Blashford Lakes, the sea wall and Keyhaven Marshes. In the New Forest we had an evening trip to listen to Nightjars.
We have an open membership, whose members are informed whenever an outing is planned. Members then respond, select dates, are warned of any expected hazards and come if it suits. This results in about 10-12 members.
Walking in the forest in Boldrewood 10th May 2026:-
Robin, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Wren, Blackcap, Chiff Chaff, Cuckoo, Stock Dove, Coal Tit. Special mention of the Tawny Owl (photo above), seen in the same tree as 10 years ago, though possibly not the same owl! A goldcrest or firecrest was heard by Chris just before everyone arrived.,
We will be in touch in due course about an evening walk to hear/see night/jars in early July near Brockenhurst Click here for details
